AGNI STEELS SA
AGNI STEELS SA is a joint venture between AGNI STEEL (INDIA) and Afro Asia Empowerment Holdings (AAEH) at COEGA Industrial Development Zone, Port Elizabeth. As an R400-million investment steel plant, the key focus borders the determination of unlocking more opportunities in steel scrap industry, adding value to the domestic economy.
First in Eastern Cape
AGNI STEELS SA has been contemplated as the first mini-steel melting unit in the Eastern Cape. Ascending up as the first project in the metals cluster with strong principles, the workers' sense of responsibility has also been strengthened with a direct equity.
Scrap Requirement
The demand for scrap is high for the huge production potential. Having a need of 120,000 tons per annum till January 2014, the scrap requirement will sweep up to 240,000 tons per annum from 2015. The direct influence of enormous demand upon the vast availability of scrap bounds to unlock the establishment of many local scrap suppliers. The steel billets and steel products being produced ventures to satisfy the consumption requirements of the domestic, India and other African markets.

SCRAP SUPPLIERS INVITED

Agni SA requires upto 120,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2, bundled and non-bundled LMS, car body bundles, shredded scrap and industrial waste scrap. In the second phase, by Jan 2014, the requirement is 240,000 tonnes per annum.
